The 2008 Alta Mesa Verdelho grapes came from the Alta Mesa appellation near Galt California. Verdelho most likely originated in Sicily and might have been introduced to the Islands east of Morocco. The grapes for this wine were gently harvested and pressed into refrigerated stainless steel tanks to cold settle for 48 hours, then barrel fermentated for 5 months then racked to a stainless steel tank. Fresh peach and pink grapefruit combined with light French oak flavors from barrel fermentation makes this a very complex but fun wine to enjoy with many different cuisines.
